A regional lender serving Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah sought a way to increase its volume of refinancing sales. Traditional lenders relied mainly on direct sales via telephone or walk-ins, supplemented by online referrals. A strategy was conceived to take the sale direct to consumers at home via door-to-door knocking. The program would leverage the capabilities of former missionaries with experience in door knocking by providing them with a tablet-based app that pre-qualified customers and made applying for a loan easy.
A mobile app was developed that combined pre-qualified leads (based on publicly available data), mortgage product options, simple application, document upload, and direct connection via video chat with loan officers.
