Project: e-Commerce website
Services: Strategy, design, development, content, operation
WebFactorE’s founder served as President of Blockbuster.com and lead the concept, design, development and operation of a full-featured e-commerce entertainment portal. After designing the e-commerce framework for the new site, the next step was integrating online sale of distressed video inventory from the company’s central warehouse, turning returned and overstocked movies and games into a new online revenue stream. An innovative online rental process was then developed to link the live inventory of more than 7,000 stores across the USA to the website so members could browse and rent titles online then skip-the-line when visiting the store for pick-up. After successful launch in America, the full range of features was localized and made available for Blockbuster’s global audience.
A sixty person operations team was assembled consisting of client services, content creators, video specialists, editors, animators, content management specialists, advertising coordinators, analysts, and business development specialists. Dynamic content featuring exclusive video interviews with top Hollywood stars, original and partner-generated animated content, contests was created.
